Who Would We Look For?

Here is the situation. My wife is a secretary for a private individual in need of 24 hour care. My wife set up a payroll account with ADP for herself and for her care staff. When my wife took out the account, ADP assured her that everything was according to CA state law. My wife was 100% certain that the staff was being covered by workman's comp. Friday, one of the caregivers fell and broke her leg in two places. My wife just found out today that ADP did not set up an account with Workman's Comp.

Gotta disagree with C. Lawyers, as human beings, get curious just like anyone else, and I've me a few respectable attorneys here to network and generally help people out. On the other hand, I'm not a lawyer yet, having just finished law school, so I don't necessarily buck the trend. As for who to look for, my NONLEGAL ADVICE/GUESS AS NOT AN ATTORNEY would be to check in with a local workman's comp attorney that offers free/cheap initial sessions and ask them. Internet's fun and all, but it's important to talk to an expert in the area of law and the area of the country you're in to get a good answer.

I'm not looking for an answer as much as I am looking for a referral to a guy who might have an answer.
